WHITEHALL GARDEN CLUB
The Whitehall Garden Club’s goals are to stimulate knowledge and love of gardening, to share advantages of membership by means of educational meetings and field trips, and to restore, improve and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvements.
The Club meets at 9:30am on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Whitehall Ambulance Barn conference room located at the southwestern corner of N. Whitehall St. and W. 2nd Street. A social with refreshments provided by hostesses is from 9:30-10:00am with the Club business meeting beginning at 10:00am. Various programs are planned and begin at 11:00am, after the business portion of the meeting.
The officers for 2026 are Laura Horn, President; Dorie Westhoven, Vice President; Judy Chadwick, Treasurer, Joan Myhre, Secretary, and Jayne Dean, as our Parliamentarian. The Whitehall Garden Club’s fiscal year runs from January 1 through December 31 with Committees meeting in January to plan their projects, programs and budget needs.
Special projects include an Annual Arbor Day Celebration where a limited number of tree seedlings are given away to the first attendees, maintenance of the Blue Star and Gold Star markers located adjacent to the Native Plant Garden, maintenance of 6 flower barrels in front of the Whitehall Ambulance Barn and sponsoring and organizing the Floraculture Department at the Jefferson County Fair. The Club also sponsors a $1,000 scholarship for a qualifying high school student.
The Whitehall Garden Club is a member of the Montana Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. and the National Garden Club, Inc.
